| HP Labs China offers research positions for interns in Beijing, China. Our internship program is looking for students who are enrolled in a graduate program in computer science or related disciplines. Research interns will have the opportunity of interacting with HP Labs researchers worldwide. The tenure is generally 12 months. We are presently seeking researchers with some of the following expertise: advanced databases, large scale data warehousing and information management, business intelligence, data mining, web content discovery, content management, optimization and algorithms, parallel and distributed information management, clustered computing and file systems, workflow technologies, web services and web 2.0 applications, and software development. Qualified candidates should have strong system research and development skills, experience in software development language and tools, and in-depth knowledge of computer algorithms and data structure; they should be strongly result-driven, and fluent in both English and Chinese.
Qualifications
1. Education Master's or Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science or related technical discipline (e.g. information technology, computer engineering, applied mathematics)
2. Experience, knowledge and skill Experience in software system research and development; ability to conduct independent research and to participate in research teams.
3. Experience with system development, and experience in developing technologies into a product is a plus.
4. Experience and knowledge in one of the following areas; advanced databases, large scale data warehousing and information management, business intelligence, data mining, content management, optimization and algorithms, parallel and distributed information management, clustered computing and file systems, workflow technologies, web services and web 2.0 applications, and software development.
5. Fluent with software development language and tools; programming languages such as Java, C/C++; scripting language such as Perl, UNIX shell, python; tools such as Eclipse and CVS; familiar with web services or service-oriented architecture development and integration such as J2EE, SOAP, or WSDL; user interface design experience; knowledge of database technologies (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL).
6. In-depth knowledge of computer algorithms and data structure.
7. Commitment, self-motivated, and result-driven.
8. Fluency in English and Chinese
