Wei has been working for HP since 1988. He has served on several engineering and managerial positions in manufacturing, product development, research and strategic business planning at China HP, HP Labs and HP product divisions. Most recently he was the research program director and university program director at HP labs China and contributed in establishing the China lab. Prior to that, Wei worked at HP Labs in Palo Alto and HP product divisions in Colorado for more than10 years, as senior R&D engineer, research scientist, project manager, and strategic business planning manager. During that time, Wei and his team invented several CMOS technologies that were widely used in many HP products. He also led in creating product and technology roadmaps for three HP product lines. Prior to his HP career in US, Wei worked as production engineer and senior R&D engineer at China HP. He participated in building up the product testing capability at China HP, and led in the creation of HP's first R&D organization in China.
Wei 's research interests include mixed signal IC design, computer architecture, Web technology and data management. He has published widely and been granted several US patents in those areas. He received PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from University of Colorado.
