Version 1.0 of the HP Mediascape Authoring Toolkit contains a critical security vulnerability that could severely compromise the data or operations of PCs running the mediascape emulator. If you only use version 1.0 of the PC-based emulator to try mediascapes that you have created with the educational version of the mediascape editor then you are not at risk. If you use the emulator to try mediascapes from other sources then you are at potential risk. In either case, you should download and install the patch.

How do I apply the patch?

1) Exit all copies of the mediascape editor and emulator running on your PC
2) Download the patch file by right-clicking on this link and choosing "Save Target As ..."
3) Navigate to the folder containing the downloaded patch file HPMAT1.0-Patch1.exe and run it by double-clicking on the file name.
4) During installation of the patch, ensure that you specify the same folder used for the original installation.
