[Gc] GC 6.6 on Solaris for Intel OK [Solaris for Intel?

Is that with thread support?

One of my current projects is to get gc7 up on Solaris/SPARC, among
others. It's not quite done, but I think it's getting close.

I haven't been testing on Solaris/Intel. But I did manage to greatly
reduce various platform differences in the process. In particular, the
gc7 Solaris port uses the standard pthread support, not the lwp-based
hack from earlier versions. And most of the assembly code has
disappeared. I think so have some of the differences between
Solaris/SPARC and Solaris/Intel.
