I now have an access to a Leopard equipped MacOS 10.5 (thanks Laurent) and the
situation seems even worse than I initially thought.

I have tried the following :

-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----
$ cat > foo.c <<EOF
int main( int argc, char *argv[] ) {
    GC_init();
}
EOF
$ gcc -O3 foo.c -I/opt/local/include/gc -I/opt/local/include/gc/gc -L/opt/local/lib -lgc
$ ./a.out
-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----

9 times out of 10, this hangs forever. Approximatively 1 time on 10
shots, it works (i.e., it completes and exit).

Am I the only one noticing this problem? Is it a known problem? Is there
a workaround? Thanks in advance for any help.
