I've reviewed and adjusted latest patch: https://github.com/ivmai/bdwgc/commit/a757207828fc882e8a4bf3b8d2774d0502258971 (in https://github.com/ivmai/bdwgc/tree/add-long-weakref).

Could you please add some tests (to tests/test.c) related to long ref? (Also, a test that shows the difference between long and short links is very appreciated.)
