you can add any header you like using the --add-header option.
for example:
./httperf --server=myserver --add-header="Accept-Encoding: gzip\n"
--print-request --print-reply
SH0:GET / HTTP/1.1
SH0:User-Agent: httperf/0.8
SH0:Host: myserver
SH0:Accept-Encoding: gzip
SH0:
SS0: header 80 content 0
RH0:HTTP/1.1 200 OK
