How close to using all 12 GB (?) of memory do you get during the runs? 
Perhaps there is a malloc() allocation failure in a path in httperf that 
isn't checking returns properly.

Alternately, it would be good to get a core dump and see what was on the 
stack.

BTW, picking a nit, but that would be a 10 Gb NIC I suspect b for bits 
rather than B for Bytes :)
