India is a country of many languages and cultures. It has a vast population with a majority of population preferring to use local languages. The literacy is around 65%, but the Information Technology penetration is around 5 %. The services in India are typically semi-automatic with long queues standing to get manual help to complete a computerized transaction, e.g., railway ticket booking. Secondly, paper is still heavily used in India e.g., forms have to be hand filled to avail many services; paper bills, receipts, tickets are common, certificates and identity cards are essential. Typically the Enterprises in India are struggling to expand their reach, e.g., Banks are only able to address 45 % of Indians. The aim of this project is to address the barriers of technology penetration in India and provide innovative IT solutions to various Indian enterprises to expand their customer base.

For a common Indian consumer, it is difficult to transact on computer due to barriers ranging from language, usability, affordability and accessibility. This project mainly concentrates on interaction and paper technologies to develop innovative solutions in various enterprise scenarios.
