Security of Paper Documents

Security of paper documents is important in a number of context. In particular both issuing and verifying enterprises incur substantial cost, time and effort in terms of dealing with authentication of documents which can be substantially alleviated with the use of technology.

Security practices for paper documents are required in order to authenticate the document source, the integrity of the information, and to distinguish copies from originals. We are presently exploring various approaches to achieve these.

Projects:

Document Authentication System (DAS)

Our research in this area focuses on:

  • Algorithms to increase the density of information that can be embedded on paper.
  • Techniques to ensure tamper-proof security of paper documents.
