Technology for Education

In developing countries like India barriers to good and quality education are aplenty. Can we use education enabled by IT systems to overcome these barriers? We are working on developing IT systems to enhance education. We experiment with existing products and systems of HP and see if it can be used to promote education. The systems could be used for formal and informal or continuing education. They could augment classroom-based learning activities or be independent web-based learning systems.

The core research areas in this field are:

  • Web based Collaborative Learning Environments
  • Web 2.0 in Education
  • Interactive Multimedia Systems
  • Reusable (Repurposeable) Learning Objects
  • Using Games and Reward Systems in Education
  • Digital Libraries and Archives/Repositories
