When people don't even get 512Kbps broadband how will be Vayu useful?
The assumption here is that the bandwidth limitation is only a transient issue. Once the infrastructure builds up this limitation will go away.
How the product is positioned? As computing device or TV add-on?
VInD is positioned as an enabling device to help the internet usage for the mass population who have already invested on TV but do not want invest on PC as well as do not know how to work with keyboard and mouse paradigm.
Which is the Target consumer segment for this device?
Any home which has a TV is a potential consumer for this device. Users who would like to use the value of computing without getting into the complexities of PCs would benefit most from this device.
Can I replace the Set-top-box with VInD?
No. This device is NOT a replacement for set-top-box. This is an add-on device for an existing set-up of TV and set-top-box or cable connection. The VInD uses another spare video connection (either AV or HDMI) to make TV as the display device.
Do I need to have internet connection to use VInD?
To make use of the Web applications that come along with the VInD one needs to have an internet connection. Apart from that user can access other non-internet applications such as contacts, media (Photos, Videos, music) stored on the VInD.
Can I use this VInD as a computer?
Yes. One can connect a keyboard and a mouse via USB ports to VInD with TV acting as the display device and VInD will become the computing device. One can access the native applications for creating documents, access web email etc..
Can I store my media content on VInD?
Yes, VInD can double up as a media storage center of the home. The user can connect a Pen-drive and upload the media - photos, videos and music.
