In April 1990, Hewlett-Packard launched HP Labs Japan in Tokyo, following the laboratories in Palo Alto, California, and Bristol, UK. In Tokyo, HP researchers pursue advancements in community management, human interaction analysis, user experience design and futuristic social multimedia services.
Leveraging Japan’s advanced on-line community services and network infrastructure; researchers are developing technologies for community management and interactive media on emerging mobile and converged networks. Specific research areas include community collaboration, collective interactivity, behavioral dynamics, user-generated interactive media, rich user interfaces and multi-device environments.
