The HP-MIT Alliance

The HP-MIT Alliance is an exciting and ambitious partnership that brings together researchers from Hewlett-Packard Laboratories and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to work on a range of digital technologies. The HP-MIT Alliance focuses on three challenging research areas: communication and computing platforms; e-services for business and commerce; and fundamental research, particularly in quantum science. The Alliance was formed in August 2000 and is due to run for five years. It is an innovative model for collaborative technical and business research between industry and academia. HP invests approximately $4 million a year in Alliance projects and infrastructure.
