June 2008 - HP Labs is sponsoring a best paper award competition at ASME IMECE 2008, the preeminent technical conference for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
The lab's third annual best-paper competition aims to support research and development on sustainability topics related to energy efficiency, alternative fuel systems and emission reduction. The topic of the paper must be related to heat transfer and thermal systems; papers on energy and sustainability are strongly encouraged.
The award carries a cash prize: $2,500 for first place and $1,500 for second place. Authors of the top five papers chosen by the awards committee will present at a special panel seesion during the international conference, being held in Boston from October 31 to November 6.
The deadline for submission is August 18. Authors should contact their session chairs to be considered for the prize. For more information, please see the call for papers.
