Anbumani Subramanian

Biography

Anbumani (Anbu) Subramanian is a Senior Research Scientist at HP Labs, India. He joined the labs December 2006 as Research Scientist. He presently works on camera-based hand gesture recognition for applications in human-computer interactions. Prior to joining the labs, he was a post-doctoral associate at Virginia Tech from 2005 to 2006, where he developed a vision-based navigaiton system for an autonomous marine vehicle. He was a Member of Technical Staff (Intern) at the Human Computer Interaction group of Rockwell Scientific in the summer of 2001. Prior to joining graduate school, he worked as a Software Engineer at IBM in Bangalore and New York, from 1996 to 1999.  He received his Ph.D.from Virginia Tech. His research interests include image analysis, computer vision and pattern recognition.
