Biography
Previously, I worked in Telefonica's Labs (third largest telecom in the world) and I was assistant professor (part time) at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Before that I was a visiting associate at several U.S. universities. I hold a B.Sc. in Electronics, M.Sc. in Telecom Engineering and ICT from the University of Valladolid and a M.Sc in Pharmacology and a Ph.D. in Medicine from the University Complutense of Madrid.
I have published 25 JCR papers, 1 book and 5 book chapters, 5 non JCR-indexed Journal papers, 8 Conference papers, and more than 15 talks and abstracts in engineering (cluster, grid, Cloud and distributed systems) and its application to biomedical research (pharmacology and cardiac electrophysiology) and Computer Supported Collaborative Systems (CSCL 
). My H-index is 14.
Also, I frequently contribute to the major Spanish-speaking open source software community with code and posts on the blog: Morfeo Cloud Technologies .
Research interests
My goal is to track down really interesting, complex, interdisciplinary, difficult problems, then solve them with practical application to corporate daily life. I love to work with in a collaborative, cutting-edge environment on advanced prototypes and real world working systems, building solutions to the upcoming problems in computing. I'm particularly interested in infrastructure/platforms for high performance computing, data analysis and real time systems as well as collaborative software and social networks. I also have tons of fun in applying my experimental prototypes to another fields like biomedicine and education.
