Biography

Niranjan is a principal scientist in the Printing and Content Delivery Lab. His current research is in the area of Automated Publishing. His main research contributions include the Probabilistic Document Model (PDM) for automated document formatting, HP's Pluribus multi-projector display and HP's Wobulation technology for rear projection TV. Over this tenure and HP Labs, Niranjan has made original contributions to the state of the art in media and imaging technology including commercial printing, scanned document processing, hardcopy security and rights management, digital camera pipelines, projector pipelines, multimedia analysis and understanding, machine learning, and three dimensional computer vision. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree in engineering management from Stanford University.
