Teck Hooi Lim

Biography

Teck Hooi develops Cloud based applications together with his fellow engineers and researchers. He has developed applications ranging from web-based and messaging applications to desktop applications using Java technology and other open source technologies. Other experiences include writing Hadoop applications in Python.

Teck Hooi received his Diploma in Material Engineering from TAR College, Malaysia. At the same time, he passed his UK Engineering Council examination to qualify him to become a member of UK Engineering Council that carried the the title Chartered Engineer should he has followed through. However, he decided to follow his heart and became a software developer.

He has also shown interest in other JVM languages like Clojure and Scala in addition to Java. These generation of languages provide the developer an arsenal of tools to handle concurrencies better and easily and they are expressive.
