Anbumani (Anbu) Subramanian joined HP Labs, India in December 2006. Earlier, he was a post-doctoral associate at Virginia Tech from 2005 to 2006 . He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2005 and 2001 respectively.

He was a Member of Technical Staff (Intern) at the Human Computer Interaction group of Rockwell Scientific in the summer of 2001. Prior to joining graduate school, he worked as a Software Engineer at IBM in Bangalore and New York, from 1996 to 1999. His research interests include image analysis, computer vision and pattern recognition.
