Summary
This workshop addressed gender equity in the information society from the perspectives of global progress; Latin American women; success stories, tools and best practices. Speakers addressed women's access to, benefit from and literacy and leadership in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and the need to educate, recruit, retain and retrain women engineering and ICT employees to maintain global and regional competitiveness. The workshop offered participants concrete tools and best practices that have demonstrated success for ensuring girls' and women's full participation in the knowledge economy.
