UNIX Operating Systems on the Pentium
Here is some information about a paper Mary Baker and I wrote for
the 1996 USENIX.
- New NFS Results
- This is a short analysis NFS performance of a Linux kernel with
NFS caching. This data has been gathered since the paper was written.
- Benchmarks
- These are the benchmarks we used in the paper.
- Slides
- A Postscript verison of the slides for the talk I gave at the
1996 USENIX Technical Conference
-
A Performance Comparison of UNIX Operating Systems on the Pentium
- A Postscript version of the USENIX paper.
-
Solaris Files
- This the /usr/local/ of my Solaris root file system. It contains
some useful utilities that did not come with Solaris, like gcc, tcl, and
various other GNU programs.
