Trust Management and Authorization Framework for B2B (PASTELS) [back to projects page]

The goal of this R&D project is to research on Trust Establishment, Trust Management and Trust Monitoring for e-Services (web services) in an Internet-based B2B environment. The focus is on digital credentials and fine-grained authorization at the service level as basic foundation for Trust Services.

Digital credentials (X.509 identity certificates and Digital Signed XML attribute credentials) are exchanged among businesses, on the Internet, to establish trust and to underpin trust during business transactions. Digital credentials can be easily managed at the user side (PASTELS browser plug-in) and at the service provider site (PASTELS credential usage monitoring service).

Enterprises can deal with trust management and fine-grained access control for e-Services by using  flexible fine-grained Validation and Authorization Services (PASTELS policy-driven authorization framework). A prototype has been built, based on an e-Services Marketplace scenario and Intellectual Properties generated.
