Qian Lin

Qian Lin is the manager of the Imaging Technology Department. The department focuses on research and development of advanced imaging technologies from capture to management and display. Researchers in the department developed state-of-the-art image processing technologies such as redeye correction and panorama stitching, automatic image enhancement, photo layout, and image and video compression. In addition, the department is exploring a number of new areas, such as multimedia management systems and technologies for browsing and searching, digital restoration of classic movies, and interactive camera-projector system. Our researchers are also active in a number of multimedia standards, such as MPEG 21 and JPEG 2000. A number of technologies developed by our researchers are in HP products that are used by millions of people around the world.
