Recent Research
I apply image processing and image analysis techniques to
improve the experience of browsing image collections. I have also
worked on algorithms for image enhancement, including compression
artifact reduction, approximate reconstruction of the digital
information from a printed page, and color adjustment in YCC spaces.
My work with audio has included developing technologies for
exploring music collections and algorithms for enhancing audio
signals.
Example Research Projects
In these pages are descriptions of a sampling of my work. I
would like to acknowledge the collaborators involved in many of
these projects. To see who else is involved, please look at the
author lists of the cited publications.

Short Biography
Ramin Samadani is a researcher in the Multimedia
Communications and NetworkingLab at HP labs. His work involves
video,
image and audio processing. Prior to HP, at
Electronics for Imaging, he worked on color printing
technologies in engineering and management positions. At
Stanford and NASA Ames, he worked on image processing
and image analysis research applied to remote sensing
applications, as well as on color simulation of flat
panel displays. He received the MS and PhD in EECS from
Stanford University and a BS in Engineering Physics from
UC Berkeley.
