Get the new version of Socks from ftp.nec.com:

ftp://ftp.nec.com/pub/security/socks.cstc/socks.cstc.4.2.pre1.tar.gz

Yeah, the version numbers are pretty useless, and they don't reflect
anything close to the number of features and changes that went into
the program, but whatreyagonnado.  

The "pre1" release turns those client messages off by default.  Just
build yourself a new libsocks.a and link that with the rftp client,
and you are good to go.
