Following on from Ken's message, I have found a way to get emacs to
core dump fairly consistently, although I haven't gone into testing
this thoroughly as yet (ie. with empty .emacs). I was copying my login
directory files from one machine to another using efs. I had a "bare"
emacs - just started up, did a find-file on the local directory,
find-file on the remote directory, marked over 100 files (and the odd
directory) - all were "." files- then C. Off went efs, copied about
30/40 then core dump !!

Note: I have sent mail to RMS about these core dumps but all the stack
traces I have had we're usless, completely corrupted, from both Irix
and AIX. I haven't tried the patches posted earlier. This is next on
the list. This mail is just to give others some idea want is happening
to me. Maybe this could be tried on other systems.

Thanks,

Adrian
