Auto save error

Hi!

Since I installed EFS, I get auto save errors on my VM INBOX file
(that's VM the mail handler, not the OS) and sometimes, but not
always, for other files too.  I have (require 'efs-auto) rather than
(require 'efs) in my .emacs.  I would like to have a go at this
myself, but I don't have a clue as to where to start.  Give me that,
and I will hack-oh!
