Right, I just tried the following (with lines 0) :

- \C-x\C-f /me@somewhereelse:.bashrc return or tab, it doesn't matter
	I get the message "Opening FTP connection to somewhereelse"
	An FTP process is running
	Pressing \C-g doesn't stop it
	Killing the FTP process returns Quit (and *ftp process not running*
	if no \C-g was pressed and return was used to start the fetch)

	Try again in the same emacs session and it works !!!

Note: this is not a major problem for me. I'm sure you've got enough
to get on with without this, so just a note in the README or a
PROBLEMs file warning others would do for me until such time as
someone has opportunity to look into this.
