I'd thought about asking Chuck to include efs 1.15(alpha) or 1.16(unreleased)
with XEmacs 19.13. However, since I remember reading somewhere about 19.13
being a fast-track mainly-bug-fix release, it may not be a good idea to
introduce a large package such as efs/dired at this stage.
I'd like to get efs into 19.14 if that is a slower feature-rich release.
I'm using efs 1.15(alpha) with each new XEmacs beta release with no apparent
problems. I believe that there are others on the efs-testers mailing list
using 1.14(beta) with XEmacs with only one or two small bug-fixes.

Size perhaps. efs is a *lot* larger. I personally binned ange-ftp 2-3 years
ago. ;-)

Not that I know about.
I believe that Michael Sperber is helping the efs team with XEmacs-specific
features in dired-7.x.
