efs-1.5 has an infinite recursion bug, for which a patch was posted
to this list.  It's a trivial fix, as the bug was just a typo.  Have
you applied the patch?

Otherwise: What version of emacs are you using?
           Any details on how emacs crashed?
           Error messages?
           Are you using a gateway?

Without a few more clues, this is going to hard to fix.  Unless you've
hit the inf. recursion bug, I don't think that anybody else has had
this problem.
