XEmacs 19.11 was only announced a few days ago. This seems to be the platform
that the new archie/dired combination break on.

One reason that efs is still supported on v18 is that both Sandy and I still
use the v18 platform very heavily.

Up until 2 days ago, 18.59 was my sole Emacs platform for many reasons, some
of them still valid. I now use XEmacs 19.11, but find that both it and 19.27
are still slower than my severely hacked 18.59 for many things.
