This request has come up many times in the last 2 years. We've
thought about it each time it has arisen. The current thinking is
that packages like w3 are probably a better way of dealing with this
type of filename syntax. I personally use a key binding for
w3-fetch to read the URL and then eventually call efs.
I welcome postings from all the testing team about this issue.
