Is it not possible to have just a* or something like this. I tend to
remember the buffer name as the last part of the path, thus /foo/bar
is bar, /fooo/foo/bar would be bar<2>, /foo/bar/a* would thus be a*,
/foo/foo/a* would then be a*<2>. Perhaps this is not possible with
emacs buffer names.
