Actually, I'm pretty uncomfortable with this, but haven't really had the spare
time to reply up to now.
When RMS took ange-ftp and "tree" dired into Emacs 19, he made a lot of extra
work for me since I had to explain to each bug-reporter why their favorite
feature or package now didn't work.
We could always have a vote amongst the beta testers. If more thumbs down
than thumbs up, efs stays separate. ;-)
