EFS 1.16 bug: Can't get EFS to work with Kerberos

To whom it may concern:

As the subject says, I can't get efs to work with Kerberos.

Two problems:

1.  If I haven't run kinit, efs seems to try to run kinit but I never
    get prompted for my password.

2.  However, if I run kinit elsewhere, efs seems to know that, and
    starts connecting immediately.  However, when iftp prompts for the 
    user name, efs seems to hang.  Here is an example of what the ftp
    buffer looks like when I try to access /rtoy@ftp.mindspring.com:/

	open ftp.mindspring.com
	Connected to gwa.exu.ericsson.se.
	You are toy.@RTP.ERICSSON.SE (local name *No local name returned),
	at address 147.117.132.216, version 1, cksum 7888
	
	Name (ftp.mindspring.com:toy): 

   It hangs at this point.
