Actually, your delay has been rather good.  The powers that be have
dismantled kerberos here.  Hurray!  However, the replacement also
doesn't work with efs. :-(  However, the good news is that it's quite
similar to the proxy ftp method.  The major difference is that I have
a special id and password to access the proxy ftp.  Once in, it acts
like the normal proxy ftp.  (I think, since I've never used a proxy
ftp before.)

I haven't had time to look into this, but I think making this change
would be much easier than getting kerberos working.
