Most of my current work I do is HP confidential. Currently my
activities are focused on contributing to making HP's
imaging products (camera, scanners, entertainment) compelling to
customers and investors. From time to time something might get
declassified. Here below are some of these and some other
research work.
Document camera
Photo sharing
Text capture and translation for PDA
Stitching for flatbed scanners
Image Based Rendering
Stereo matching with SVD
The popular ellipse-specific fitter
I occasionally publish (see
list of my publications)
in peer-previewed conferences and journals, but I am "chasing"
that less and less these days.
I presented at several conferences all over the world and
occasionally I was invited to give talks to academic groups or
external meetings.
However, many of the activities I am involved in results in
intellectual property protection (see my list
of granted patents applications)
I have ongoing collaborations with various parts of HP (Palo
Alto, Israel, Fort Collins, Barcelona) and on a case-by-case
basis with academic groups.
I am also a member of the intellectual property strategy
panel at HP Labs, which assesses potential of individual
inventions, IP portfolios and the invention process.
I regularly serve as reviewer of international journals
(such as IEEE PAMI, Image and Vision Computing, Pattern
Recognition Letters, etc) and occasionally I am in the committee
of international conferences (e.g. BMVC 2004, BMVC 2005, VIE
2004, VIE 2005)
