The current version of atomic_ops is
libatomic_ops-1.2.
We are still in the process of integrating it into a
qprof release.
Pre-1.0 versions were distributed primarily as a part of
qprof.
Prior versions:
Very old versions of the atomic operations package installed
themselves as "ao", which sometimes led to installation conflicts with
the libao audio library. Avoid installing these in standard system
directories.
