Abstract: The digital camera's role in the photographic process is still largely limited to acquiring photographic images. A wireless link associated with software services on an access point allows a camera to finally supercede the "film roll" processing model. Adding remote services and a local cache of images and metadata can transform the camera into a full-fledged imaging appliance.
