New Families of Semi-Regular RelativeDifference Sets

Abstract: We give two constructions for semi-regularrelative difference sets (RDSs) in groupswhose order is not a prime power, where theorder u of the forbidden subgroup is greaterthan 2. No such RDSs were previouslyknown. We use examples from the firstconstruction to produce semi-regular RDSsin groups whose order can contain morethen two distinct prime factors. For u greaterthan or similar to 2 these are the first such RDSs,and for u=2 we obtain previously unknownexamples.
