Abstract
There is an alternative to the familiar debate of privacy
versus the public interest in access to medical data for epidemiological
studies. It consists of cryptographic mechanisms that allow
investigators to have access to individual's data and to contact
them with further questions while at the same time preserving
their full privacy.
