Hewlett-Packard Object Model 1.0

Snyder, Alan

HPL-91-79

Keyword(s):

Abstract:This document describes a proposed object model for Hewlett-Packard. The model defines a set of concepts that characterize an object system. The purpose of the model is to serve as a common framework for presenting and comparing HP object technologies. It may also serve as a guide to possible evolution of object technologies towards the hypothetical future "grand unified object system". The model is based on the abstract model prepared for the Object Management Group, which is itself an outgrowth of earlier work undertaken by an internal Hewlett-Packard task force. A companion document (HPL-91 -80) uses the model to describe the object models of five key object technologies.
